About the Role
XSE Group is searching for an energetic Controller to join our team. This is a leadership role with responsibility for an accounting department. As the Controller, you will plan and direct all accounting operational functions, manage the accumulation and consolidation of financial information for internal and external financial statements, assess accounting and internal control systems, and guide departmental staff. Key Responsibilities
Evaluate, implement, and streamline policies, procedures, controls, and most methodologies
Manage the production of the annual budget and forecasts and monitor on a monthly basis
Each month, prepare and present financial reports for the executive committee
Ensure timely cash collection by driving the timing for monthly billing and other cash management techniques
Preparation of borrowing base submission
Prepare cash-flow reports, projecting cash needs at weekly and monthly intervals, daily cash management
Work closely with executive team and partners to facilitate efficient and effective firm-wide operation
Support Finance Department initiatives, including software and systems implementation and other departmental or firm-wide improvements, through research, planning and implementation, as needed
Lead the operations of the finance department, which includes accounts payable, billings & collections, and payroll
Manage monthly and annual close of income statement and balance sheet, the reconciliations of accounts, and G/L analysis

· Close monthly books within 5 business days

IT Equipment Policy
We provide a full desktop technology set up for employees working in one of our offices. This includes a desktop computer, monitor(s), keyboard, mouse, and telephone. For employees working remotely or exercising partial remote flexibility under a hybrid program, we do not provide portable IT equipment at this time and instead operate a “Bring Your Own Device” policy for remote work.
Employees working remotely are required to own a computer that meets or exceeds the minimum requirements listed below. Tablets do not meet the requirement (except Surface Pro tablets running standard Windows 10 or 11, not S mode). The computer must be in good working condition.

Requirements
CPA or MBA preferred; BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or similar field required
7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including as a Controller preferred
Extensive financial reporting experience, including comprehensive knowledge of month end closings
Proficiency in Microsoft Office with excellent Excel skills required
Experience working with enterprise accounting software and/or an ERP required (bonus points if you know JD Edwards)
Attention to detail and demonstrated ability to follow standard procedures
Self-starter with efficient time management skills, effective organizational ability, and the drive to meet business critical deadlines
Strong communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills, ability to build as well as deliver effective presentations, and openness to feedback
Flexible in completing tasks beyond formal job responsibilities
Critical thinking skills and the ability to retain complex work directions
